Oe Church (Oe Tenshudo)

After the resurgence of the Christianity,
the current church was built by a French propagator, Father Garnier who made his effort with local Christians in 1933.
In the premise, the statue of Father Garnier, well-liked as “Pateru san” (Father in Latin) and Virgin Maria are there, and then they are icon of Amakusa Christians. When you go into the church, colorful stained glass, heartwarming ceiling, and window decoration will attract you. ※Photography and video recording are prohibited inside the church.
