Shimotori arcade is the biggest shopping arcade in Kumamoto, which is 510m in length, 15m in width. With an air of openness and brightness, department stores, boutiques, and restaurants stand side by side in a row, and the street is full of activity. A lot of bars and Japanese izakaya bars are open till late in the middle of the night, and it’s known as the busy street of the town at night.
